Opportunity standards
Agree what makes an opportunity worth pursuing
Your team should spend time with buyers who need what you offer, have a credible way to pay and want to explore working together. We agree what that looks like for your business before outreach starts.
Define the standard
Fit means something specific to your business
| Consideration | What your team needs to know |
|---|---|
| Relevant need | A problem or priority your business can address, recognized by the prospect. |
| Genuine interest | A reason to explore working together beyond a polite reply or general curiosity. |
| Financial ability | A credible way to pay for the work being discussed. |
| Commercial size | An opportunity large enough to justify the work required to pursue and serve it. |
| Ability to serve | A need, location and requirement your business can support. |
The criteria depend on what you sell. We also check who is involved in the purchase and how the decision will be made. A job title by itself does not tell the whole story.
Evidence and review
You decide which opportunities count
Capture the relevant evidence
Research helps us choose who to approach. The conversation reveals whether the need and fit are real. We keep unanswered questions visible rather than treating them as confirmed.
Review against the agreed criteria
Your chosen reviewer assesses the opportunity during or after the first conversation. We agree what they need to know, when they will review it and where the decision is recorded.
Record the decision and its reason
Mark the opportunity accepted, declined or pending, with a reason. That feedback helps us correct poor fit before sending more of the same.
Make the exceptions clear before work starts
A missed meeting is not a completed conversation. An account outside your agreed service area does not qualify simply because someone attended. Duplicates, rescheduled conversations and incomplete evidence need clear handling.
Your agreement explains how reviews and exceptions affect delivery and payment. Accepting an opportunity means it is worth pursuing. Your team still needs to win the customer.
